We’re Going to SEMA!

We’re going to SEMA! We’ve never been before and this is a major item on the bucket list. Have you ever been to SEMA? What’s your favorite part? If you’ve never been, where do you usually go to find out about everything you missed? In the past we’ve always relied on Discovery and Velocity to provide us with peaks into the SEMA Show. Sometimes there are whole episodes/shows devoted to SEMA and sometimes we have to find peaks inside the car shows we usually watch, like Diesel Brothers.

What is SEMA?

For those who don’t know, SEMA is the largest car show in the United States and it happens once a year in Las Vegas, Nevada. It’s not open to the public, which makes it tricky to get into and one of the reasons why this has always been a huge bucket list item for us. In order to get in, you have to be in the car business or you have to be media. For the first time in our lives we have legitimate access to the show and we’re going! You can find out more about SEMA here.

Why We’re Excited About SEMA

From watching all the television shows about SEMA after the fact, we know there are going to be some absolutely amazing cars there and we’ll do everything in our power to make sure you get to see those cars, too! We also know there will be some major hot rod celebrities there; who doesn’t want to get their picture taken with Chip Foose, Linda Vaughn, or the guys from Roadkill? I never considered myself a starstruck type, but I’m definitely jittery over the idea of meeting these folks.

What we didn’t realize about SEMA are how many workshops there are. It’s unbelievable how much learning goes on in that convention center. They have workshops on everything from fabrication to marketing. It was so difficult to pick which workshops we are going to attend and it will be even harder to make sure we can attend them when some of these celebrity appearances only happen once and for a very short time. Celebrity or Workshop, Workshop or Celebrity…it’ll be a touch call each and every time.
